A list of ideas for planning cross-curricular lessons based around a history topic. Included are ideas of how this could be linked to English, D.T, Art, Science, History, Geography, Music and Computer Science. Areas included so far: Battle of Britain Nottingham - A local history study

A simple presentation that looks at what Children in Need is, where the money goes and the history of the event including the introduction of Pudsey and Blush.

A quiz based on Disney films that can be used as a fun end of term thing or just as a general bit of downtime. Included are the quiz questions (with answers underneath each question) as well as an answer sheet for children to use individually or in groups.

A lesson design format that can be used to ensure children 'master' mathematical concepts. The aim of this resource is to consider different elements of the lesson that when put together can ensure children make good progress through the lesson/ series of lessons. The publisher version can be used to type on as a lesson plan or it can be used purely to design a lesson presentation/ resources. Key questions are included to start thinking about different elements. Whilst it isn't a definitive list, it encourages staff to consider the elements that will push children on and ensure they gain procedural fluency and conceptual understanding.

Six lessons that apply a cross curricular approach to PSHE and Computer Science. Children will work on bullying and cyber bullying, being able to identify these as well as knowing what to do in the event of bullying. This links with Computer Science through being able to use search engines effectively, knowing how to stay safe online and through creating a PowerPoint that looks at using a number of the tools available to them including hyperlinking slides.

A European History quiz that includes 20 questions about European history, including a range of topics and spanning over 2000 years. Also included is a bonus round worth up to an extra 28 points. This is useful for some end of term fun or as a general quiz to check children's general knowledge of European history and can be done individually or in teams.

It introduces the aims of the funding before providing different ideas of how the funding could be used whilst making sure that it is an efficient use. A list of stories that link History and English together. This certainly isn't a comprehensive list but gives a good start to finding stories that link to historical topics. Topics include: Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt, with Prehistoric stories included Vikings and the Middle Ages 16th and 17th Century 18th and 19th Century 1900-1939 World War Two and Post-War Britain U.S.A History

Two different anagrams with ten words related to politics/ the upcoming election. Answers are included. Planned as a fun activity and to see whether children can find the hidden words within them as a starter activity/ tutor time activity.

A workbook suitable for children in Year 5 and 6. This 22 page booklet looks at a range of aspects, getting children to work through questions related to areas of grammar and in being able to use a dictionary accurately. It is perfect for 5-10 minute bursts during register time or can be used as an extended activity for a lesson if plans have fallen through/ changed, with children able to pick it up as and when.

10 practise Arithmetic papers with 20 questions in each to use for practise in Year 6 ahead of the new Key Stage 2 Arithmetic assessment. These questions have been formed by using the exemplar material and other practise papers released. These have then been used to look at the type of questions that appear regularly, with these then being tested regularly throughout the various tests. It will provide children with test practise as well as regularly being able to review what children understand and what they still need to work on.

A powerpoint that looks at both colons and semi-colons. This identifies what they are and how they can be used in different ways. These are backed up with examples of colons and semi-colons in use and also include activities to do as a class discussion about where colons or semi-colons should go within the activity questions.

Three extracts from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows with three sets of differentiated questions attached with each extract. These activities will help children work on a range of comprehension skills using a story many are already aware of and engaged with.
